Qualification Purpose:
Any individuals who are or wish to be involved in business administration, specializing in Marketing Communications will access this degree. The Learner is able analyse market conditions, develop marketing strategies, product and brand development, pricing, distribution (local and international), integrated marketing communication (including advertising, promotions and public relations) and interaction with the customer (through selling and customer service).

The purpose of this degree is to equip a learner with a marketable skill, which can also be utilized to build credits toward other certificates, diplomas, degrees in Marketing, both within the IMM and on the NQF. Learners can follow a career in Marketing focusing on Marketing Communications.

Rationale for the qualification

The Education Board of the Institute of Marketing Management have identified the need for a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Communication degree course. Any individual who wishes to enter into a career in business administration in marketing communication or who is already in a similar environment can access this certificate course, which is on an NQF level 7.

Credits obtained on this degree can be utilized in obtaining credits towards other IMM programmes in the sub-field of Marketing.

Learners will acquire a liberal education involving at the same time some understanding of the scientific methods, a study of marketing in-depth including some of the specialist areas in marketing. An inter-disciplinary study of other functional areas of business which concentrates on the application of appropriate concepts and techniques in business management.
